BIO

Born in Rome in 1959, graduated with honors in Electronic Engineering from the La Sapienza University of Rome, he attended the telecommunications specialization course at the G. Reiss High School of L’Aquila. He carried out in parallel with his professional activity, the academic one as a volunteer collaborator at the Sapienza University from 1985 to 1992.

He began his career in 1986 as a telecommunications software designer at Ericsson-Fatme. From 1987 to 1992 he worked in SIP-General Management in the Research and Development sector. From 1992 to 1994 he was in STET at the Community Relations Office, with the task of following the technical aspects related to the definition of the community policy for telecommunications. From 1994 to 1997 he worked in STREAM – Interactive Multimedia Services S.p.A., first in Planning and then as Head of the Innovation and Technological Planning sector.

In 1997 he was hired by Rai as a manager with the role of head of the “Technological Planning” area, within the “Technological Planning and Investment Plans” of the Deputy General Management for Production and Distribution. In 1998 he was assigned to the Business Development and Alliances Department with the task of operating as Project Manager.

In 1999 he was seconded to Federcomin (Confindustria Federation of telecommunications, radio and television companies and information technology).

In 2001 he was entrusted with the responsibility of the “Scenario Analysis” organizational unit of the Strategies and Business Development Department. Following the corporate organizational reorganization, in 2004 he became head of the “Strategic Planning” structure within the “Technology Planning” organizational unit of the Technological Strategies Department.

In 2007 he was assigned to the Digital Terrestrial Structure as head of the “Resource Development and Offer” organizational unit. In 2013, following a reorganization, the Digital Terrestrial Structure merges with the Strategic Development Department.

Within the CTO area, in 2015 he became responsible for “Satellite Platform Services”, Satellite Structure and later, in 2018, he assumed responsibility for the “Strategic Network Development” organizational unit of the Platforms and Distribution Department.

In 2019 he became Deputy Director of the “Strategic Network Development” unit within the Networks and Platforms Department – CTO of Technological Infrastructures, and ad interim of the “IP Network Innovation” area.

In 2020 he was appointed Director of the Networks and Platforms Department within the CTO-Technological Infrastructures area.
